BACKGROUND
Studies show that on average, oral family history fades and ancestors are forgotten within two generations. CircleIt is here to change that. Our platform is reinventing how families connect, celebrate and preserve precious memories for future generations.
Imagine sending your newborn a personalized card to be opened on their 18th birthday. Scheduling future flower deliveries for your wife as you’re battling cancer. Or, reading your grandchild their favorite book so they can remember your voice long after you’re gone.
Our one of a kind generational platform is like a virtual time capsule – helping our members create customizable cards and personalized digital memories to be delivered to their loved ones years, even decades, in the future. This gift can be easily shared and securely stored for countless generations - allowing the safe keeping of priceless memories, stories, wisdom, family values and off-the-record tales for generations to come.
I am the only Product designer at CircleIt
I started working with CircleIT as a UIUX Product Designer over a year ago as the only UIUX Product Designer in a startup of 5 engineers without a product manager. I support design across every aspect of our business and am responsible for leading UX and UI across key parts of the application side of the platform.
I've grown tremendously in the last year, some key achievements of which I have listed below:

Challenge
First-time User Experience Flow
We have a lot of good business ideas want to show our users all the key features in our app. So during their first time experience, we were guiding users to understand the key features they can do on this app by going through the detail of features step by step. However, according to the backend data, it shows that only less than 30% of the users who has completed this whole registration flow and the rest of them just quit the app during this cumbersome and tedious flow. Nowadays, people have shorter span of attention. As a result, users run out their patient before completing the tutorial.
Solution
I was trying to find the sweet spot between business goals and user needs. Instead of bombarding users with a ton of information, we trimming the app down to its bare minimum. Only keeping the basic info we need to store for users such as phone number, email and password. They have the freedom to choose when they want to go through the tutorial. With this improvement, 80% more people has completed the registration and stayed with our app.
